About Fiona
Fiona’s offerings and teachings are diverse and multi-layered. Here you can find a more in-depth story of her gifts as a teacher, therapist and medicine woman so you can better understand how she works.
Red Path

What is the Native American red path?

WHAT IS THE RED ROAD? The Red Road is a phrase frequently used by Natives signifying a deep commitment to living life in the best way possible — with an intrinsic respect for others, oneself, and creation and a dedication to worshipping the Creator.
Fiona was initiated as a medicine woman, and spiritual leader, and given the responsibility of carrying the lineage of the Red Path tradition and Sacred Fire of Itzachilatlan by Aurelio Tekpankali.
As her medicine man and teacher, Aurelio entrusted Fiona with the honour of carrying, holding and care-taking these indigenous ritual ways in the UK and abroad.

The intention was also that this ancient form helps support a remembering of the traditions and wisdom held in our own lands.
She has walked this Red Road since 1993 and has held sweat lodges, ceremonies, blessing ways, weddings and rites of passage since her initiation as a Medicine Woman in 1997. Ceremony and ritual are essential to the experience of connection, and her work is to 're-member' them back into the fabric of our lives. Fiona has been creating communities in the UK, Europe and Israel with ceremony at the heart of all things.

Therapist
What you can expect?

Fiona’s grounding in nursing, massage and midwifery brings a body-centred focus to the energy and spirit work that comes through in 1-1 sessions. Everyone that comes to work with Fiona will be met where they are in that moment.
Fiona will channel the unique blend of talking therapy, influenced by the practices of core process psychotherapy, reiki and energetic movement for each person.
Fiona works relationally and draws from experiences in her own life where this is appropriate and offers the wisdom of her own journey with grief and gratitude.
She offers a space of witnessing and a container where you can reflect and develop your awareness.
There are no subjects and areas that can’t be included in a session but the key areas that Fiona specialises in are:

Grief
Life changes
Inner-child work
Connection
Trauma
Relationship difficulties
Health concerns
Emotional blocks
Depression and anxiety
Family difficulties
Coaching
You can have a one-off session or come more regularly depending on what it is you want to work with.
Most sessions are an hour to an hour and a half, unless you request a double session.
Fiona also works with couples and specific relationship dynamics.

Due to the multi-disciplinary approach of the work, sessions are generally face-to face in her therapy room where she lives in Devon. However, many people also work with Fiona across the country and abroad on Zoom.

Rites of Passage
Within Fiona’s work with individuals, women's groups, retreats and
ceremonies there is an understanding of the importance around rites of passage for people. A particular phases of life and moments in time, it is good to mark and honour the journey that has brought us to that moment.
At these rituals of initiation, there is an invitation to give thanks and release the weight of stories being carried and to make prayers and intentions for the future. In this way Fiona lays the way for you to make commitment to change and honour the passage of life.
Birth Consultant
In 1993, the 'Craft' of Birthing found Fiona, and as a lay midwife she accompanied many women through birth and the childbearing year. These first births seeded her passion for midwifery and led her to complete her official training with the NHS. She went on to practice as an Independent Midwife for thirteen years and co-founded Sacred-Birthing, a doula training programme, which enabled her to teach and share from her years of experience.
Her passion is to uphold birth as Sacred, and has committed to being a safe-keeper of the ancient craft of midwifery.
Fiona is currently practicing as a Birth Consultant, offering individual coaching sessions, mentoring and teaching.

1-1 sessions can include support with birth preparation, debriefing after birth or previous births, and planning with you, how to best support the whole birthing rite of passage.
Fiona is committed to supporting women to feel empowered through their birth choices and experiences, however and whatever they are. In the recent years, there are too many stories from women and some professionals, of trauma experienced in relation to child-birth. This is so far from the Sacred Rite of Passage she believes in and has experienced birth to be.
Body Therapist
There is a close relationship between the emotional, energetic and physical body, and so much content gets stored in the body from the weight of the stories carried.
In the late 1980's Fiona qualified in massage at the Gerda Boysen school of Biodynamic psychotherapy. She then went on to study to be a reflexologist with the Bayly School. In the early 1990's Fiona was apprenticed to her Reiki master and was initiated as a Reiki master herself in 1995. This became a major focus of hers, and she has practised and taught Reiki ever since.
Fiona’s experience of working with the body and with energy is now integrated into all of her work. She offers individual Reiki sessions, and incorporates Reiki in her sessions, and teach Reiki classes to small groups on request.
